Worldwide Ward Cookbook:440 Recipes from LDS Cooks Around the Globe by Deanna Buxton

5.0

This is the most excited I've been about a cookbook in ages. This book is a real treat! Big, beautiful design (reminds me of some scrapbook stuff I have!) lovely glossy pages with big pictures of recipes, and chock full of interesting recipes from nearly everywhere. There were recipes from America, of course, and Australia, Canada, South Africa, Ghana, England, France, Portugal, Japan, China, Laos, --I'm sure I'm forgetting several places. My son ran off with the book to salivate over the pictures, I think. :-) There are recipes passed down in families, learned on missions, or just invented. The best part--many of the recipes include stories, traditions, or remembrances associated with them. I just spent a good part of the afternoon when I was supposed to be doing something else, reading all of these stories. Delightful, and a real keeper, along with being lovely enough to keep on a coffee table. Highly recommended.
