I was curious to see another book published by an Australian but it didn’t captivate me like I hoped it would. There were only two POV’s that told this story (Henry & Rachel) but so much was going on in each of their lives as well as the side characters that it got muddled after a while. I was told this book would make me cry but alas… I didn’t 🥲 I did feel surprised by a character’s departure but I didn’t know enough about the character to feel anything beyond a fleeing recognition that they were gone. This could have used less people to make the connection between Henry & Rachel more potent (still unsure what they saw in each other.)
