I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I thought the book was okay, but it could have been a lot better.
It was marketed as a stand-alone and I've not read the rest of the books in the series, so I truly don't know if it this a true stand-alone or not.
I was not a big fan of the merge of the different mythologies as they seemed to not mesh very well, especially when Greek and Egyptain terms were used in the same sentences.
There is also Fae things involved as well, again, I have not read any of the other books in the series, so I have no real idea if more is explained about the different realms.
For people who may not know much of Egyptian mythology, it may seem a bit confusing and be overwhelming, it was for me and I'm a huge fan of Egyptain mythology.
However, I feel there may be some people who love this book much more than I have.
The characters are decent, I guess but I felt like I didn't learn a lot about them and a lot of things were left unresolved between them and even more things were left unknown and unfished.
The ending felt a bit rushed to me and the Epilogue really didn't tie up many loose ends and left me even more confused.
