I assumed that I would not get caught up in the characters as much due to Ead and Sabran from The Priory of the Orange Tree still holding my heart. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Seeing the stories of the ancestors of the characters I loved so much was really an indescribable experience. Beautiful lore and writing that had me wishing this over 800 page book was longer.
