mikavon 's review for:
Service Model
by Adrian Tchaikovsky
Basically a road trip novel (which I already hate--plots where the characters are shuttled between set pieces that have no real bearing on one another), but with annoying characters and a nonsensical world. I think it was trying to be funny? It's the kind of humour John Scalzi would like--probably why there's a blurb from him plastered on the cover.
This author has written some of my favourite books, but he's also written a lot of books that I greatly dislike. He's also written a lot of average books that I don't care about one way or another.
I don't know how reliable his name is for me anymore.
