Daredevil: The Man Without Fear by Frank Miller

4.0

Daredevil might just be the best written character in comics. A string of fantastic writers have all given so much depth to the marvel hero. Perhaps the most well known voice of DD is Frank Miller, who after his 50 issue run decided to come back and retell the character’s now definitive origin after giving the Dark Knight the same treatment in Batman: Year One. Despite loving Leob and Sale’s Daredevil Yellow, this is my favourite Daredevil origin, and my favourite origin in general. Miller’s deconstruction of Matt’s early life gives so much more substance to this character.

John Romita Jr returns to the character after working with Ann Nocenti to what I personally believe his best work. Great paneling and action composition that really help make the story flow with distinct style.

If you are a huge fan of the Netflix Daredevil show (as I am) then I can’t recommend this iconic story enough.
