For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway
4.25
Idk dude like the writing style is nice but it’s just a war book. There’s very little in it except war bad, fascism bad, fighting for freedom good if we must.
There are some cool things that he does stylistically with representing PTSD and sex, but other than that I find myself once again rather underwhelmed when it comes to Hemingway (especially when you put him in conversation with his contemporaries, who were writing much better books more consistently).
