This felt much more like a coming-of-age story than a romance story. The romance was wholesome and I loved it, but I was much more invested in Hannah’s journey in connecting with her Nigerian culture and family. It was a beautiful story about family and estrangement more than it was a romance. At times, the romance felt a bit forced or rushed, but the pacing of it also felt natural given the circumstances. I wish we could have seen more development between Hannah and Lawrence. Since this entire book takes place over one week, it was hard to believe that their commitment to each other was as intense as they thought.
