Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn
5.0
This book has been in my tbr list for ever. First of all I have to say that this is the first time that I have read a book after watching the TV show based on it. I loved the show so I desperately wanted to dive into the book, to have more of that creepy and at the same time compelling atmosphere that characterize the southern gothic as a genre.
This book is in the tradition of the best novels of the genre. And it is so we'll written.
It's about journalist that is sent to her small and oppressive hometown to write about the sudden disappearance of two teenage girls. As she investigates all the wicked secrets of the town come to light. Even those of her own wealthy, traditional and extremely dysfunctional family.
No doubt, this is one of the best books I've read in a long time.
