“Because if you stay, then rage and grief and pain are inevitable. To live is to feel these things.”

I thought this was a pretty solid ending to the series! I liked the spy-feel of the first half of the book. I was so surprised when it was revealed Gideon was Simon’s brother, but it makes sense since all of the characters are connected somehow. Having the interludes between chapters from the POV of The Collective was so interesting and emotional. I think the interludes were my favorite part of the book. Also, the chapter from Lilac’s POV to finish what was started with the Collective 🤌.

I thought the pacing was a bit weird in the book. It was a very quick start and then the middle got slow at times. The ending was also a bit confusing with what was happening. I also found Sophia to be a bit insufferable toward the end ngl. She got better when she accepted her feelings for Gideon, but there was a minute when she was making me mad lol.
