I'm apparently in the minority here, but I really don't care for this series and I don't think I'm going to continue it. Emily is a RAGING asshole and while I understand she's meant to be autistic-coded, that doesn't mean she gets a pass to be an absolute jerk to everyone around her (and then act all surprised Pikachu face when they get upset with her about it). I also am not buying the romance between her and Wendell. The friendship, sure, but I really don't understand why Wendell loves (or even likes) Emily.

Additionally, she's supposed to be SO SMART, but consistently makes some of the stupidest choices imaginable and is only saved from certain death by Deus Ex Machina by either Wendell or whatever poor common fae she's managed to swindle into helping her.

Also, I am sick to my back teeth of the persistent anti-Irish stereotyping that continues even to this day, especially in fantasy. Wendell's Irish faerie kingdom is full of evil faeries who are cruel and murderous, but it's okay! HE'S one of the GOOD ones...oh, except when he also comes over all murderous, whoops! It's not like the Irish have been historically portrayed as savage and murderous for centuries!! This also shows up in the ACOTAR series (and to a lesser extent in that wizarding school series), and I absolutely hate it.
