I really wish I could give this important book 5 stars. It’s important because it points out how crucial it is to be aware of how you use technology, especially the ultra-influential internet, and of its effect on you and your body. I enjoyed the historical survey and neuroscience coverage as well. The final chapter was a powerful heartfelt plea that is ever more relevant ten years after publication. But. There is a very soft and poorly substantiated middle to this book. It reads like a blog or online magazine article. It feels cherry-picked and slanted. I expect better from a supposedly science-based book. Seriously, who can take a researcher seriously who says “It almost seems like...”? What does that even mean??
