I think I only finished this because it was the book I kept picking up when I was between other reads and couldn't make a decision? Also, I spent the whole time thinking I must have read it before, because I recognized so much of it even though I didn't have it shelved. No idea what must have happened before, but I assume Past Me just forgot it existed and Present Me was trying to figure out what happened. This wasn't even a real hate read by the end.

But things I didn't like:

1. I never actually believed in the connection between these characters
2. I'm apparently very picky when it comes to "nerdy" characters, because I am so sick of the naïve/innocent ones being written like fucking idiots
3. I'm probably going to pick up the rest of the series to read some of the side characters
