I loved the second book in the Bill Hodges trilogy! This one felt a lot different than the first one since the focus was more on Pete and Bellamy vs. Bill and the Finders Keepers crew. We don’t even get to Bill until much further along in the book! That may be my one minor complaint—I was expecting more Bill and company because this was a Bill Hodges book. It almost felt like King was writing this as a standalone story about Pete and Bellamy and then later decided to work in the Finders Keepers crew. I think it was still done well and the tension and pacing was fantastic, I just wish I had changed my expectations before getting started. I am, once again, just so blown away by King’s ability to create these incredibly complex characters that feel so distinct and compelling. Can’t wait to read the third one!
