A genuine delight if you’re into early Stephen King type horror! It took me a bit to get into, but once the pace picks up, it sticks to full throttle until the very last page. I’ll admit that I found a lot of the dialogue to be kind of cringe-inducing and overdone, and I agree with others who have suggested that the whole thing could’ve been about 100 pages shorter, but that certainly wasn’t enough to deter me from a plot this interesting. Despite my own Stephen King comparisons, it felt genuinely original and daring in a way that Stephen himself doesn’t necessarily achieve these days.
I’m thrilled I stumbled upon this and will definitely keep an eye out for future releases from this author!
