I had a hard time rating this book, are these my favorite characters in the SJM universe? No. Do I still love Hunt and Bryce? YES. Were they redundant? Also yes lol
This book has a large focus on character development, some better than others
like Lidia’s storyline, seeing her in true light, and finding out about her sons. Her and Ruhn carried this book!!

There were characters whose storylines are unfinished, which makes me think SJM has another installment in mind as she’s usually good about wrapping up loose ends by the end of a book.

There was some plot protection that was just a bit too ✨convenient✨
🌙A parasite nobody has known about for 15,000 years and an antidote created in a few hours that restores magical abilities instantly

🌙The Under King dies because Ithan suddenly has convenient ice powers and Hypaxia just kinda whacks him with a stick and shatters lmao

& some others but those two were interesting.

Overall, the book still kept me intrigued and I enjoyed it. Not my favorite series by Sarah but still good.
It’s a classic SJM book, lots and lots of build up with the last 100 pages body slamming you lol
It’s worth the read, the whole series is! It’s witty, emotional, fun, and there are surprises and cool world building that I really enjoyed. Just don’t take things too seriously lol
