“I don’t want perfect…I just want you.”

Oh, my heart. Riptide, the fourth book in the Cedar Lakes University Series, is the story of Finn and Foxx, two men grappling with healing, grief, and loving. This book is filled with wise and sassy friends, cats who give off that delightfully stabby vibe, super hot and steamy scenes that’ll have you gasping, and the most poetic insight into loss and grief.

I was immediately taken with both Finn and Foxx; one, the cocky surfer boy and the other the brooding math professor. They are each struggling to heal from loss, learning to live with grief, to trust themselves again, and to - maybe - love again. When they finally connect, their chemistry is explosive. Their text messages are the best kind of foreplay and I was vibrating with wanting them to fit together like two puzzle pieces. The spicy scenes are so deliciously spicy I was worried my e-reader would burst into flames.

But Riptide also explores the beautiful tragedy of love and loss. Of family and belonging and being seen. The courage to be yourself and sit in the silence left in someone’s absence. And the powerful healing we are all capable of.

Read this book. This was the first of the CLU series I’ve read and I didn’t feel like I needed to read the previous three before this one. But now I’m going to. Grab this heartfelt, heartbreaking, heartwarming, and hot story. Get caught up in the riptide.
