Collected Fictions by Jorge Luis Borges

A recent conversation I read online regarding sympathetic narratives told from the point-of-view of the monster, e.g. [b:Grendel|676737|Grendel|John Gardner|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1347871284s/676737.jpg|1348308], led me to read this brief short story.

It tells of the myth of the labyrinth, and the Minotaur within that Theseus slew, but Theseus is only mentioned in the last line --
Spoiler“Would you believe it, Ariadne?” said Theseus. “The minotaur hardly put up a fight.”
-- as the tale is told from the point of view of the Minotaur, Asterion.

The translation I read -- the author wrote the story in Spanish -- can be found online here, and is well worth the few minutes it would take to read it.
