This must be one of my favourite books from Naomi Novik. It has everything I expected and more!
The first person POV is easy to follow even if it is changing chapter to chapter without introductions.
The plot is pretty simple even if everything regarding Staryk is pretty mysterious until the end.
I’m just left hoping for a little bit more romance and perhaps time within Staryk Kingdom but that’s just me being a slut for political intrigue and enemies to lovers.
I couldn’t put down the book and read it in basically one sitting and was definitely a great way I start a year!
