Eragon by Christopher Paolini
5.0
I read this book around 10 years ago, and since then, have re-read the series 2.5 times (inheritance wasn't yet published for one of the re-reads). I remember finishing it in 2 days, then putting it down and picking up Eldest and continuing on with the story eagerly.
This book receives a lot of hate for being a cliche and "immature" writing but Paolini was a teenager when it was written and it's natural for him to have been inspired by other fantasy books. Regardless, it's a really enjoyable series, really fascinating plot, and there are multiple plot twists and good characters and I highly enjoyed it and on my 3.5 re-read I know I'll enjoy it all over again.
