The Storyteller's Death by Ann Dávila Cardinal

I listened to the audiobook version during my morning walks, and I would wake up looking forward to listening!! 🫢 I loved the storyline, which follows a line of Puerto Rican storytellers, and focuses on Isla, someone who didn’t quite fit into her US life, but also felt like an outsider when spending summers in PR. I loooooved the matriarchal family structure (even though Alma had her flaws 😓), and all the folklore! I loved the spooky visions Isla experienced, the culture surrounding death in PR, and the mystery plot?? Minus one star because I wanted a bigger twist, and the ending felt a little predictable. Still very enjoyable, and I loooooved how beautifully the Spanish was spoken in the book. 🤩 the perfect walking book!
