I don’t understand why this doesn’t have as many good reviews. This collection of ghost stories reminds me of A Christmas Carol, and it recommends to read it around the winter solstice, even though the stories don’t take place around the holidays. I found these tales to be creepy, and very unpredictable! For its time, it definitely would have scared most people to their core. I think too many people think of horror novels as being gory, psychological, or other intensities. I enjoy old fashioned ghost stories, and if you like A Christmas Carol, I think you’ll love this!
