Vampires of El Norte by Isabel Cañas

5.0

LOVED this. My god. The author does such a good job of conveying the dread of the characters, the feeling of being watched/hunted, with a unique portrayal of vampires. I love her other book as well - her descriptions of supernatural creatures truly give me the chills and don’t feel forced or campy(something I think is quite rare). I feel that she is writing about what terrifies her instead of writing about what she thinks would terrify readers, which is what makes her writing so effective.
