Hot take. This trilogy peaked at the 2nd book. This book went on and on and on. I think the book is great for detail work and for the world, but the ending was short and the epilogue left much to be desired. The trilogy is gut wrenching in a good way to a reader but this book made me so weary. I love Fitz and will be continuing the Robin Hobb universe but my honest opinion is that the 1st two books are best in this trilogy and this book the chapters could have all been condensed.
