I grew up reading this series and always found them intriguing because of the crazy things that Amelia would forget and the silly things that she would do throughout the story. Amelia is the type of person that takes everything at literal value and does things just so. If you asked her to go pick up some food, she would go to the kitchen and pick up food, literally. Her spunk and unique characteristics are "relatable" for those who easily get frazzled and confused at the simple things. Little kids love this book because it is so simple yet hilarious and so easy to catch on to. The drawings add to the fun and make the story come to life. It is hard not to like Amelia, the girl who brings simple things to live, everyday. Her name adds to the laughs because she encompasses everything fun and unique about life.
