Don't Tell Anybody the Secrets I Told You: A Memoir by Lucinda Williams
4.0
Essential reading for any woman in the music industry! So genuine and relatable, written in the style of a true, no-nonsense badass. I listened to the audiobook, in Lucinda's own voice, which really brought the story alive. She writes about childhood trauma (and grownup trauma) with the comfort and realism of one who has been through a lot of therapy and come out stronger. There's no glossing over it, but neither is there rage or self-pity. 4 stars because my standards for a 5-star book are exceedingly high - as in, there's nothing I'd even consider changing. This one piqued my interest in a number of themes I would have loved to spend more time with, so the missing star is for that reasonable but still noticeable amount of untapped potential.
