The Midnight Star
by Marie Lu
A surprisingly great conclusion to a mediocre fantasy trilogy. I think the writing of these books could have definitely benefitted from richer descriptions, world-building, and a slower pace.
However. The character development done in this last book shocked me. I wasn’t expecting to like the end as much as I did. In fact, it made up for a lot of my grumblings about the first two books. I found myself caring for characters and feeling *nostalgic* (of all things) for the cast of characters as a whole.
