River of Ashes by Alexandrea Weis, Lucas Astor

dark

5.0

The Devereaux family has been powerful in St. Benedict for centuries.

Beau, the only child and heir to the Devereaux fortune, can do no wrong. He's the star quarterback, gets good grades, volunteers, and even helps with the family business. By all outward appearances, he's perfect.

But no one sees what happens in the cells of the abandoned Abbey. The Abbey holds many secrets, young and old, but some secrets can be deadly.

The roller coaster this book takes you on is incredible. The characters are well developed and you become invested in them, only to be devastated by the end. You won't be able to stop reading.

It's a dark subject, but also one that we need to discuss. Sadly, this may be fiction, but this is a nightmare that so many girls experience in high school.

I enjoyed everything about this book. I am currently working on book 2 and it doesn't disappoint either. Seriously, if you like a good thriller that will keep you up at night, this is it.
