A Tale of Two Cities
by Charles Dickens
On this re-read, I really have to say I loved the story in A Tale of Two Cities. The writing at times was a little more challenging than many other things I've read, but once I focused, it flowed very easily for me and I was able to appreciate many of Dickens's great lines and witty descriptions. The ending for me was both tragic and happy, which I suspect it was meant to be. I appreciated this a lot more than I did in high school and it does make me more inclined to give other Dickens works a chance, even though in the past he was one of my least-liked classic authors. I'm really glad I re-read this!
