This book is so engrossing because it is simply odd. As I was reading, I grappled with how to describe it to others and now that I am done, I'm still not sure. The author does a great job at documenting the main character's physical and mental transformation as she goes on a hibernation journey so that you feel right there with her. Visceral, disturbing, and funny at times.
