A Crash of Fate by Zoraida Córdova

3.0

While I did have a fun time with this book (I didn't finish it in one sitting for nothing (god do you go through this book QUICK!)), it didn't manage to spark something in me like other books tend to do.

It focuses on the characters and the romance between them after seeing each other again after so many years. It's your typical friends-to-lovers story, and there's nothing wrong with that. They both deny it at first, while we know from the start it will happen and while it grows and grows, you know the moment they will kiss is growing nearer and nearer. It's cute, it's endearing and you want it to happen. But that's about it, for me. The book's story itself, while not bad, didn't manage to grip me once, and all I thought throughout it was 'This is like a Lost Stars lite' or something. It does what it does.... Fine, I guess? But it gets overshadowed by what it —unknowingly—tries to be.
