Aphrodite's Kiss by Julie Kenner

1.0

I've been pretty spoiled with superhero books. I read a bunch of the Marvel novelizations back in the day, and was blessed to find a blending of those and romances in Jennifer Estep's Bigtime series. Now, every superhero romance I come across is measured by the yardstick that is the Bigtime series. Unfortunately, this one fell well short of that mark. Even Liana Brooks' [b:Even Villains Fall In Love|13570455|Even Villains Fall In Love|Liana Brooks|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1333333580s/13570455.jpg|19150339] was better than this, and that's saying something since I didn't like that one all that well! I couldn't connect to the main character, because she seemed like too much of a wimp, almost to the point of not knowing for certain that she wanted to be a superhero, or even if she could. Even though she had super senses, she almost never used them, due to the fact that her powers were spotty at best. The ending of the book was also anti-climactic, and we had almost no lead in to Mordecai's situation. All in all, I didn't care for the book and have deleted the entire series from my Kindle.
