While I didn't care for the gory details of vines through on and through people, and some other gory details- I did love the story line, and especially the surprising ending! I think the book could have been a little shorter as well- as I found it to drag on a bit sometimes. Otherwise I highly recommend it if you like fantasy / mystery!
