PHENOMENAL book!! So fun and devastating, but in a fun way!
I can’t believe a man named Brandon has me sitting through a 24 hour audiobook, begging my libby app for the next 29 hours, and caring about metal, but this story was beautiful. The characters, the imagery, the world building, the teeny little bit of gore that's quickly smoothed over by a ‘look she’s flying’ scene (works like a charm on me), the easter eggs and little secrets that come back to bite you, and the softness of girlhood running through it all??? And all in the year of the lord ruler, 2006?? How has it taken me thing long to readdd!!
Actually it's just my problem I'll be real here. I hate that I am sometimes the person that is like ‘yeah okay maybe’ when people tell her about the amazing books they read, because somehow I am always shockeeddd when I decide to read them for myself and love them? As if no one tried to tell me. Anyway, six stars✨✨✨✨✨✨
