Sailor Moon: Volume 1 does a pretty good job at kickstarting the main storyline quickly whilst also providing a nice introduction to the characters and the existing universe. However, I think where I felt myself getting a bit lost with this one is that it sometimes went too fast in terms of the pace and I felt that panels were missing interns of figuring out what was happening. A lot of this volume felt like it was going at breakneck pace and particularly towards the middle, I struggled with figuring out what was happening. I did enjoy the art style here, however a couple of panels seemed to be almost unfinished with certain features such as eyes or details missing from the characters at different points in the book. Overall, this is a pretty solid first volume but I don’t know 100% if it’s one I’ll be coming back to yet, especially given the fact that I have a lot of other series that I want to get caught up with first!
