i've never read anything like this before, such an intricate series of vignettes of historical sapphics. i wanted to like it so much more than i did but it was very hard to get into and get through. there are so many characters i lost track. however, the prose was really striking and there were some absolutely beautiful lines. experimental in form, good overall, just difficult to consume.
