A Darkness Absolute: A Rockton Novel by Kelley Armstrong

4.0

This second book in the Rockton/Casey Duncan series hits the ground running as Casey and Will are in the middle of chasing a resident through the woods when a blizzard suddenly hits and they are stranded. After a close encounter with someone that could have been a person or could have been a bear, they take shelter in a cave and happen upon a woman who has been held there in a pit for over a year. But who put her there? Is it a resident or one of the hostiles living in the woods?

You really can't read this book without reading the first one because it expects you to already know what the deal is with Rockton. There's very little background that doesn't directly apply to the current story. That being said, I'm really enjoying this series, particularly in audio, and I don't think I'll wait long before picking up the next book.
