Kristin Lavransdatter, II: The Wife by Sigrid Undset

4.0

After loving The Wreath, the second part of the trilogy was a bit of a slog for me in some sections. I felt like Kristin was further away as a character, detached somehow, and I wanted more of her and her inner dialogues/development, and less of Erland. I did really enjoy some of the other characters’ development and the social milieu of the time. It’s a fascinating and engrossing read that’s definitely worth the while.
