The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Women by Kate Moore
5.0
Although this book took a while to finish that is only because the horrific stories are difficult to read about and were easier to bear in smaller amounts. Moore does an absolutely superb job writing about the individuals who fought and eventually won against an industry determined to get away with murder. The parallels to today's society are just as haunting. I am normally a fiction reader and tend to prefer light YA reading so this was far outside my usual selection but I absolutely feel that it should be required reading for our society today. Moore has given her all and has done justice to capturing the harrowing tale of the women affected and their lives.
