Elle returned to her recently airbnb-listed house feeling unsettled. She knew someone else stayed in her house, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that the stranger’s presence never left. Her sister thought she was just paranoid. As a thriller writer, it was her job to imagine compelling stories afterall.

Oh, this was a good one! It hooked me right from the start, and I couldn’t guess at all where it was going. Some scenes were downright creepy (IYKYK), and I thought the plot was planned and executed flawlessly.

This might have been my second favourite Lucy Clarke after One of the Girls, which says a lot since I’ve read all of her books published so far. Plus I loved the Easter egg reference to Lucy’s other book, ‘Last Seen’ (in this book, it was described as Elle’s book, giving me a meta feeling when reading this).

This was an outstanding thriller, with a brilliantly executed ending!
