I’m entirely the wrong audience for this book—all the dragons in the world can’t make up for the characterization, plot and setting in the bowels of the violent underworld of the Louisiana bayou. My reading experience was really one star, but I have a soft spot for the Artemis Fowl books, so I am trying to not mess with the ratings.
