I enjoyed this book but I wish my expectations were set a little better. It’s more smutty and there’s minimal plot tension other than Scarlet’s recounting her trauma and her working through that. I enjoy baseball as a sport and this was a good entry point for me into sports romance.

I liked the characters but they both set off some red flags for me that I struggled with. I felt that Scarlet was too child-like/hyperfeminine and Remington had a domineering personality that felt borderline at times. The spice was really good and the romance was healthy overall.

This was a cute, fast-paced, potato-chip read since I’ve been reading more intense stories lately and I’m happy to support a new indie author. She’s had an amazing debut and I hope she finds even greater success!
