The Spirit Bares Its Teeth by Andrew Joseph White
5.0

"Destroy my shape by changing it."
I don't normally find myself enjoying a "good for him" plot.  But for Andrew Joseph White, I will always make an exception.  This book was an abosulte treat to read.  Did horrific things happen to innocent people deemed socially "imperfect"?  Absolutely.  Was there trauma?  When is there not trauma in and AJW book?  Does he make every second of pain, every pound of flesh worth it?  ABSOLUTELY.  I read You Weren't Meant to be Human a few weeks ago and I didn't think I could have a book that came as close to being my favorite.  The Spirit Bares its Teeth gave YWMTBH a run for it's money.
This book is fucking brutual.  I loved it.
