To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf

If I had to describe my reading experience of this novel I would describe it as a walk through a foggy landscape. Most of the time I would be completely lost in the fog and then at times I would be able to see the path a little only for it to vanish again. Another way to describe it would be to call this novel a sea of fog with some islands of clearness.
Perhaps I'm the problem here but I struggled through this and it took all my willpower to keep reading and even though the language was pretty and poetic at times I just don't feel like all the struggle's worth it.
It got better towards the end but to be completely honest I didn't like this novel and I'm not going to say that I did just because it's a classic and many people call it a gem. I even read a summary and analysis to see if I missed something and to maybe appreciate it more but that didn't work either.

However the plus side to my reading experience is that I'm extremely happy and proud to finally have finished this novel. I believe I haven't been as happy about finishing a book in a really long time and that must count for something too, right?
