I buddy read this with a book buddy. And something occurred to me while listening. I always hear about people having book triggers and I totally get that but I have never had one before now.

I don’t have a bad childhood or tragic past. Sure I have had to deal with sickness and death of family members but those never gave me a book trigger before. But this book dealt with a man who has ADHD. Who once was able to make his own choices, choose to go off the medication.
Now I have a son who is ADHD. So it brought back so very much of the before and after and even now what we do in our house to make it easier for him.

I was shocked at how real it was how much truth there is to this book. Either the writer has firsthand knowledge or has done a lot of research because the scene with Hilary and his doctor was like I was back in the doctors seat learning all I could about ADHD and what I as a mother could do to make life as easy as possible for my son. But it was more than that it was thinking wow this could be him dealing with all these issues as a grown man in a relationship.

So over all I am glad I read the book; it put a lot into perspective. This book will be with me for a long time I can tell. That’s about all I can really say…

Great narration on the audiobook as well really brought the words to life.
