A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle

2.0

From the opening, the characters’ outbursts in the book and the narrative style came off as old-fashioned (reasonably, considering when it was written). The story moved along quickly, but there was more religion than I would’ve wanted and I wasn’t moved by the ending. Perhaps it would’ve been more novel for love to save the day if I had grown up in the 60s and not read dozens of other stories beforehand that touted the same message. The only character, I think, who will be especially memorable, is Aunt Beast.
