Boy of Ruin by K.V. Rose
5.0

It’s been three days since I’ve read Boy of Ruin.
Three entire day’s to try and find a way to articulate my review for this book.
And I can’t seem to put my thoughts and feeling into words. I just can’t. I want to cry all over again. I want to jump into this book and save every fucking character so damn bad.
I’m so invested in this world.

We all know KV Rose has a way of writing where she GUTS you. I think she enjoys it.

I cried once during reading her book Unsainted. I did not cry with any other book until I read Boy if Ruin. And then I fucking bawled like a goddamn baby.

We see more into Jeremiahs past and how it collided with other characters. We understand Jeremiah fucking Rain SO MUCH in this book.

I have since the beginning of the series, have always been very vocal that I’ve been #TeamJeremiah. And I never swayed from that. So I’m curious and how many people are going to come over to my side after reading this book.

Don’t get me wrong. I love Lucifer. But he’s done shit that I can’t forgive. His character is so damn tortured. I love to hate is ass.

**********

“The past two decades have proven over and over again how she belongs to me. And I can’t imagine spending my life with anyone else. When I’m with her, my nightmares are quieter. I have a reason to breathe.” J

Jeremiah and Sid finally have a moment of “peace” together. A taste of sweet sin with each other and it made me root for these two SO damn hard.

And straight up KV Rose style, she yanked that rug out from under our feet and said, SIKE BITCH!

I think this is the first book in this series where I had a little bit of trouble connecting with Sid. I wanted to so badly understand her actions and emotions towards everyone and she was so bipolar that I struggled with her not being able to pick a damn lover. And because of this, I damn near broke my phone. But it made this book ANGSTY AF. And SO damn delicious.
Sid wants both. Sid can’t have both.

“We’re all the same, the three of us. Born from demons, haunted by devils. Our minds are black rot, our souls poisoned before we could even talk. We didn’t have a choice in the evil we became. And I never had a chance to not love them both. Brothers forever at war, I only wanted to be the white flag.”

These are some of the most broken characters with the most got wrenching lives. You just can’t help but want to reach through your phone and grab onto these characters so fiercely and protect them. And possibly fuck them too. (Lol)

This series is dark. I wouldn’t say there’s an HEA.
I would say that some characters got an “Okay for Now” ending. And the epilogue does leave off on a somewhat cliffhanger for a specific character. There are no heroes in this book. Their is absolutely phenomenal writing with incredible world building. Some fucking serious psycho characters that you can’t help but hate to love and love to hate.

If I could give more than five stars, I would.
KV Rose, this book... my favorite. You did it.
Absolutely incredible.

“In the monstrous ties that bind us to each other. Our broken past.”
