In Too Deep by Skye Jordan

4.0

"With you, I've never been able to think short-term. With you, it's always been forever."

In Too Deep is a small town, second chance romance. We are following Laiyla who has been under her parents' thumb all her life. She always follows their rules and does whatever they wish of her and that included leaving Levi behind 12 years ago to go to Paris. Levi was her first love and vice versa. Hearts were broken on both sides and now Laiyla is back in town to spend some quality time with her best friends at her deceased grandfather's cabin at the lake. But what she finds when she gets there will tear open festering wounds, make her come to terms with who she has become and who she wants to be, and a certain handsome contractor with a few bones to pick with her.

The first 15% of this story took me a while to get into, but as soon as Levi hit the scene this book hit warp speed for me. I couldn't get enough of their back and forth banter and their undeniable chemistry. Can we just talk about that smoking hot boat scene?! Whew!
I also very much loved the female friendships in this book. KT and Chloe knew when to hold Laiyla's hand and when to tell her to stop being an idiot like any good friend does. I cannot wait to read KT and Chloe's books. The small scenes we got between Chloe and the gorgeous cop Xavier had me drooling.

This was my first Skye Jordan book and it sure as hell won't be my last!
