The Prison Healer by Lynette Noni

2.5

2.5 stars. Incredibly average read. I didn’t *hate* it but I also didn’t particularly like it. As other reviews claim, the ending was the best part of the book, but still, nothing spectacular.

The Prison Healer is very slow and repetitive. The FMC asks the same internal questions over and over. And over. The plot never really moves forward until the last 5% of the book. The “plot twist” at the end is okay, and there are a couple things I didn’t see coming (though I should have). I was never fully invested into any of the characters to care what happened to them. The end was admittedly a good setup for book 2, but will I read it? Jury is still out.
