Sweet Chaos
by Emery Rose
❝Love was only for the brave. It made you
more vulnerable than anything ever could.
When you gave someone your heart, you
also gave them the power to destroy you.❞

—» Plot:
The story begins when Dylan—our 17-year-old hero—accidently climbs through the wrong window. Instead of landing in his girlfriend Sienna's room, Dylan is met with Sienna’s 11-year-old sister, Scarlett.
I have to say that I enjoyed this little meet cute between the hero and heroine. At this point of time, the heroine is too young for there to be a romantic relationship with the hero, allowing their story to be built on friendship instead of lust.
Flash forward ten years to the present day, where Dylan and Scarlett re-enter each other’s lives. And what do you know? Sparks fly. The rest of this story is the two of them falling in love while their pasts and insecurities threaten to break them apart.
Overall, I loved the plot. However, I do wish that Rose had included scenes from the ten years between Dylan and Scar’s meet cute and their run in. It was subtly mentioned a few times that they were friends and kept in contact during this time, but we don’t get to learn the roles they played in each other’s life. It feels like an important part of their story is missing.

—» Characters:
Scarlett, is a compassionate woman, known to wear her heart on her sleeve. Oftentimes, these specific traits are applied to characters who are synonymous with doormats. In this case, they happen to make the heroine a stronger person. She knows what’s important in life, and her desire to do good allows her to forge her own path.
Our hero Dylan is an adorable
Our secondary characters were well written, but they weren’t prevalent throughout the book.
